Tip of the Week: Bicycle Control
This week's tip of the week concerns bicycle control.
It's important to have good control of your bike at all times - no weaving, being able to maintain a straight line while riding, being able to avoid road imperfections with a small bunny hop if necessary, etc.

This all boils down to predictability.  Our bikes don't have brake lights and the majority of us don't have mirrors to see what's behind us (although, a mirror is a good thing to invest in).  We need to be predictable out there for our fellow riders and to the motorists with which we share the road.  Proper bike control is the first line of defense and something that should be practiced in an area with no traffic.

Please see the Group Ride Guidelines and Etiquette page on our website for more information:  http://www.oakvillecc.com/index.php/member-resources/group-ride-etiquette

Niagara Falls Special Ride
There is one more week until the Niagara Falls special ride.
You should have seen some notes from Pieter and Jeremy over the last week.  Pieter will be leading the ride out of Oakville (~220 km) and Jeremy will be leading the ride out of Hamilton (~160 km).  If you'd like to join either of those groups, please e-mail Pieter or Jeremy directly to let them know you're interested.  In order to join the Hamilton ride it is recommended that you are a strong G4 and up rider, while anyone considering Oakville should be a very strong G5 rider.
There are still two spots left in group 2 on the GO Train.
Those of you that have signed up for the GO Train will get more details in the coming days on where we meet, when, etc.
Sunday Rides Next Weekend
Jeremy and I are still hammering out the details for next Sunday's rides out of Halton Region Centre.  Right now Recreational and groups 1 to 3 are a go.  Several group 4 members have indicated their interest in joining the Hamilton ride, including the scheduled ride leader.
We'll get things sorted over the coming days and let you know what's going on with group 4 for next Sunday.
Club Clothing
I have distributed the majority of club clothing to its rightful owners.
For the remainder, I will be reaching out to you directly to see when we can arrange a time for you to get your clothing.
Again, there is some inventory available of some of our clothing.  The updated list can always be found on our website, at the following link: http://www.oakvillecc.com/index.php/member-resources/club-clothing
That's it for this week.
