The Oakville Cycling Club offers a friendly environment for recreational road riding, training, touring, time trialing, and mountain biking year round (NOTE: mtn biking on hold for 2010). We are an Ontario Cycling Association (OCA) member Club. All members are covered under OCA insurance while on OCA and Club sponsored rides / events.
Our traditional area of member service is the Halton Region, encompassing the Oakville, Milton, Burlington, Carlisle and Kilbride. We have male and female members from Halton as well as Mississauga, Hamilton, Waterdown and many enthusiastic members from Ancaster.
New for 2010 is a strong alliance with riders from the Ancaster area. As a result, we have rides initiating from a wide variety of locations: Oakville, Burlington, Milton (Boyne) and Ancaster. Check out our Ride Calendar for our scheduled rides.
We offer you an amazing selection of hilly rides along the spine of the Niagara Escarpment in Halton, heading from Burlington/Oakville up to Arkell (South east corner of Guelph) and over to Georgetown and through the rolling Dundas / Ancaster country side. We ride flatter routes ranging down to Niagara, over to Brantford and St. George and up to Cambridge and Guelph. We have rides for almost everyone, regardless of ability or prior cycling experience.
We have excellent ride captains who know the routes and keep the pack in check.
Check out the Touring Pace and Brisk Pace pages for more information on the right group for you.
